We found what we thought was this little gem as we searched for a hotel in/around Bangkok with a private pool villa that wasn’t too far from the airport. There were some good points, and a few bad ones. We had previously rented a car for a few days prior while driving to & from Rayong province after a few days at Koh Samet and were able to park right outside the hotel (there’s no off street parking though) and on arrival were greeted by friendly staff who checked us in very quickly and showed us to our room. We booked the best room in the place, called Yotaka Residence, and it was 2 bedrooms with a huge private pool and outdoor area out back of the hotel. The location is pretty good (but quite far from central Bangkok, about a 30 minute drive to Silom area depending on traffic) and there was plenty of local street food around right outside, and lots of ATMS nearby, and a 7-eleven and 2 other mini marts, plus a pharmacy that was still open close to midnight on a Sunday! The hotel itself actually consists of 2 properties that are about 150 metres apart, so breakfast was at their other property, and they drive you there & back in a small golf cart if you chose not to walk yourself. We only had breakfast on our first day, but we didn’t go until about 10am (breakfast is available until 10:30am) and there were no other guests in their small room where breakfast is served. It was very basic with a couple of cereals, a choice of yoghurts, and breads available for toasting, some precooked fried eggs that were just sitting in a dish and were cold, plus fried rice on another dish also cold, and some Thai pork sausages which didn’t look great so we gave them a miss. Everything was uncovered and had obviously been sitting there for a few hours. Only one staff member in attendance who was just sitting down playing with her phone the whole time and was very uninterested in providing any service or even being friendly or welcoming. There were dirty dishes leftover on other tables that she finally decided to remove about 15 minutes after our arrival. The room was quite dated and run down and a little dirty to be honest. The pool was quite big but there was lots of dirt & leaves and some hair on the bottom from previous guests. The staff gave it a quick clean on our arrival, but they didn’t clean it properly, and not again at all during our stay. The pool area is behind your room at the back of the hotel (although it’s exclusive for your use if you book this room but it can be accessed easily by anybody who walks around the back so it’s not really private or secure) and the pictures on their website show a beautiful pool area with lots of trees/greenery surrounding it but that wasn’t the case at all. There were just a few plants hanging on the fence. On the other side of the fence behind the pool area is a rather large canal that doesn’t smell the best and is a huge attraction for mosquitoes so we had to go buy some mozzie spray and coils which helped only marginally. On the other side of the canal are student apartments that look right into your private pool area as well so you can forget about any privacy at all. The room itself was just okay, although the king sized bed in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable and the linen was clean and of high quality with excellent pillows and a great ensuite bathroom with an excellent hot shower. The 2nd bedroom had 2 single beds but no window so it was very dark at all times. There’s a small living area with a full sized fridge, aircon and TV (all Thai channels though, and terrible reception so hardly watchable) and another toilet/shower for use of guests in the 2nd bedroom. Both bedrooms also had TVs and aircons, and the master had a room safe. The wifi worked very well throughout the whole villa and outside by the pool. The master bedroom and the living area have big sliding timber doors/windows that can opened right up to allow access to the pool area, but they didn’t close or seal properly and both had gaps across the top about an inch high all the way along that allowed mosquitoes inside and plenty of noise from the apartments at the back and motorbikes coming in & out at all hours. This didn’t bother us too much though as were so tired both nights and we slept quite heavily, but we were woken up early both mornings from a bit of outside noise. We also didn’t have our room serviced or cleaned during our 2 night stay at all. Didn’t really bother us too much as we always keep tidy by ourselves but it would have been nice to have the option and at least get some fresh towels, more toilet paper and the rubbish removed! Our stay here was probably a 5/10, I don’t think we’d come back, but wouldn’t rule it out completely if we again needed a quick overnight stopover close to the airport. It took us about 25 minutes to drive to Suvarnabumi Airport from the hotel mid-morning on a Tuesday!

There are two Yotaka hotels here. The residence, the one I stayed in, is very comfortable, clean, has a good pool and offers a good breakfast. The wifi was good enough to watch tv and the location has lots of local food places as well as a few pubs too. The downside....their parking is not actually a car park but a few reserved slots on the side of the street.

Dette hotel kan varmt anbefales hvis man er til det mere lokale og er ok med at være langt fra centrum. Vi valgte dette hotel pga at det ikke er så langt fra lufthavnen. Ca 30 min. Hvis man vil til MBK mm tager det ca 1 Time, 200 bath gav vi fra hotel og ind med taxa meter og den anden vej tilbage blev det 300 bath uden taxa meter. Vi tog båden ca 10 min gang fra hotel til Platinum fashion mall det kostede 15 bath pr person. Vi var på tur til grand palace - totalt turistet og dyrt 500 bath pr person samt fyldt med kinesere. Vi besøgte Wat pho hvilket var en stor og flot oplevelse. 200 bath pr person. Taxi hjem kostede 400 bath uden taxa meter og tog ca 2 timer pga trafik og at det var lørdag. Mange spise steder lige omkring hotellet, hvis man er til street food. Værelser pæne rene. Sødt personale. Pool ok - vi havde den for os selv. Morgenmad lidt kedelig, men blev fint mæt. Pænt og rent.
